The Remainders

The Remainders are Phoenix's first and only improvised musical theatre troupe. Asking the audience to suggest the title of a musical that's never been done, The Remainders use that title as the springboard to create an unscripted, unrehearsed, complete musical play.

Amusing and impressing with funny impromptu scenes and songs is a good start, but The Remainders look past that to a deeper understanding of and respect for these often misunderstood theater disciplines. Supplementing studies of song construction and long-form improvisational techniques with vocal technique, dance, movement, and stagecraft, our goal is to present an hour-long improvised musical that upholds the finest traditions of both improvisational and musical theater. The Remainders have performed in Los Angeles, Toronto, Austin and Casa Grande.
