The Torch Theatre Cancer Fandango

Phoenix -- May 28, 2008 -- The Torch Theatre, in conjunction with National Comedy Theatre, announces two fundraiser performances and a silent auction to be held the evening of Friday, June 20th. Proceeds from the events will go to help defray growing medical costs for Phoenix improviser Alexander Cherry.

Alenxander is a fixture in the growing Phoenix improv scene and is one of its biggest champions. Not only will you find him in the audience, but now more frequently on stage, having completed three levels of training with The Torch Theatre.

Alexander has been waging an ongoing battle with testicular cancer, and continues to encounter mounting doctor and prescription fees. "We feel that it is only right that the improv community give back to Alexander what he first gave to us: unrelenting support," said Bill Binder, one of the Torch Theatre's founding members.
