Starting in July we will feature The Director’s Series – a four week run of shows that have been rehearsed by a director to be featured as a special production. In August the 8pm show will feature The Run – a showcase of an improv group that worked through rehearsals to feature themselves in a new and challenging way. Outside of FREEdomania! the shows will be $10.00 and discounts will be available for show bundles. With all that being said —

THE CAROUSEL GOES ROUND AND ROUND

AT THE TORCH THEATRE

Directed by Bill Binder
Unscripted performance

based on Max Ophüls’ La Ronde runs during July

The Torch Theatre proudly presents a limited run of The Carousel every Saturday in July at The Torch Theatre at 4721 N. Central Ave in Phoenix.

The Narrator of Max Ophüls’ 1950 film La Ronde guided the audience through the relationships of lovers and strangers in an ongoing circle of intersected lives. His cinematic limitation however was that once committed to film, he could only choose their destinies once.

The Torch Theatre is adapting the La Ronde into a four week run unbound by that limitation. Each performance of the run will see The Narrator returns to the six characters and re-arrange their fates in an unscripted performance. Every performance brings the characters together in different places in their lives.

The Carousel stars Michelle Cannon, Alexander Cherry, Kristie Lindeman, Alisha Ratan, Laurie Shellenbarger, Shane Shellenbarger and Whiss

All shows are at The Torch Theatre, 4721 N. Central Ave. Tickets for the July 4th performance are free. Remaining performances are $10. Tickets are available at the Box Office by phone at 602-456-2867 or online at www.thetorchtheatre.com
